How do you clarify your marketing message, so you don't need to waste money on social media ads.
To do this, you need to pay attention to the words you use in your marketing. General fitness advice and stories about yourself are not the most effective when it comes to marketing your online career.
Here’s the thing, clients invest in your service when they understand how you can help them solve their problems. They do this by reading the words you use to describe who you serve and what problem you help them solve.
When you have a uniform marketing message, it helps you attract more ideal clients.
Ideal clients are the clients you want to work with.
They are the clients that:
You enjoy training.
Enjoy training with you.
Recommend you to their family and friends.
Share similar values and beliefs as you.
When someone asks you what you do, what do you say?
It would be helpful to have a concise, compelling answer that gets people interested in how you can help them.
Your goal is to become memorable.
You do this by answering the question in a way that will establish a connection to others.

Every story worth telling features a HERO who encounters a PROBLEM and overcomes conflict to get a REWARD. No matter what, the HERO of your story is not you and your online personal training career—it's your clients.
A HERO has a PROBLEM → They meet a GUIDE that provides a SOLUTION → The GUIDE navigate the HERO to the REWARD.
In marketing, a story is the best way to make your client the HERO. It’s also the best way to share and remember valuable information.
People head toward a vision of what their life could be. As a client is researching options to solve their PROBLEM, they're thinking these questions:
Where is this online personal trainer going to take me?
Where will my life go if I invest in this service?
Will I feel better about my problem?
To attract more ideal clients, you need to have a sales/elevator pitch that removes the confusion from your marketing content.
A sales/elevator pitch has 2 objectives:
Clearly communicate how you provide your clients with the transformation they seek.
Unifying a simple and clear message for all of your marketing content.
How do you do this?
Clearly define WHO you serve and what PROBLEM you help them solve.
Show your audience that you have a SOLUTION to their PROBLEM.
Show your audience that what their life will look like after they’ve implemented your SOLUTION. What’s the REWARD in terms of how it will make them feel.
Here’s an example:
A lot of parents are busy at work during the day, and in the evening with kids’ activities and homework. They struggle to find the time to get to the gym. They're worried about gaining weight and what that might mean for their long-term health. So, I create customised training programs for time-poor parents - train at any time, in any location, with whatever equipment you have access to.
With the workout done, parents can stop stressing, relax, and enjoy time with their family.
It’s clear, it’s relatable, it’s specific. Boom.
